Making your TV Server transcode to AVC/H.264 (MPEG-4 Part 10)

Your TV Server is factory preset to create files in a particular format. You are able to change this behaviour easily from within the web interface.

To do so, take the following steps:

  1. Access the server's web administration page in a web browser.
  2. Click the Configuration link on the left menu pane.
  3. Press the Edit Formats button in the Recordings group box.
  4. On the Edit Formats screen, click Add to create a new entry.
  5. Provide a description of the new entry in the Name column, for example AVC or H.264.
  6. Paste the following specification into the adjacent Format Specification column:
  7. -b 2.35M -a 128k --debug --primary-format mp4 --podcast "-l 270 -b 300 -R 48 -B 64" --keep-files true
  8. Press the OK button to save and close the Edit Formats screen.
  9. Now simply select your new specification in the Default recording format drop-down box and restart the server if prompted.
