Playing signage video on a ONELAN NTB
ONELAN NTBs are able to receive IPTV streams from Encoded Media products either as multicast or as unicast.
Multicast
The recommended way to display streams on your NTB is multicast.
Setting up your TV Server or HD Encoder
Ensure your Encoded Media head-end appliance has multicast enabled
On the Channels page, select the channel you wish to modify, choose Multicast in the URL column and copy the multicast URL
When prompted, be sure you restart the service so that your changes are correctly applied
Setting up your NTB
On the NTB home page, select the zone from the Active Layout area in which you wish to place the stream
On the Specials tab, paste the multicast URL prefixed with udp:// into the Streaming Video field and click Add
Drag the new entry to the top of your playlist in the lower half of the screen, then click the Activate Schedule and Layouts button at the top
Unicast
Setting up your TV Server or HD Encoder
On the Channels page, select the channel you wish to modify, choose Edit Multiple Addresses in the URL column
Click Add on the Destinations dialog box and provide the IP and free port for the NTB, shown here as 192.168.9.225 and 10001. Now click OK
On the Specials tab, enter udp://0.0.0.0: into the Streaming Video field followed by the port you provided in the previous step and click Add
Drag the new entry to the top of your playlist in the lower half of the screen, then click the Activate Schedule and Layouts button at the top
From the Setup menu on the main toolbar, select System and then Security
Scroll down to the Movie Player Unicast Listener Service settings and enable the service for the port you provided in the steps above
Scroll to the top of the page and click the Save Security Settings button, followed by the rebooted link at the very top
