Updating your TV Server without Internet access
There are occasions when your TV Server is not able to complete its update process. This could be when the appliance does not have direct access to the Internet, or when it is connected to a proxy that requires authentication.
Updating manually is a step-by-step process that involves downloading Encoded Media package files using any web browser, copying these files to the TV Server appliance in question, and then setting the update process in motion from the console interface.
The steps you need to take are as follows:
- Download the .deb package files from one of the following locations:
- For platform 2.8 appliances: http://packages.emhub.com/etvd2.8.3
- For platform 3.1 appliances: http://packages.emhub.com/etvd3.1
- Browse to your TV Server's system folder by following the steps outlined in this article.
- Double click to open the server folder followed by opening the upgrade folder.
- Copy the .deb files you downloaded above into the upgrade folder.
- Connect to your the server's console interface by reading this article.
- From the top menu, choose Maintenance (5), Advanced (4), Upgrade from downloaded packages (4)
Reboot the server when finished.
