Browsing a TV Server system folder from your PC or Mac desktop

In the event you need to access the files and folders of your TV Server platform (e.g. to download logs, or to add, modify or upgrade platform package files by hand without internet access) follow the steps outlined below.

From your Windows desktop

  1. Click the Start button (Windows XP users, choose Run from the Start Menu).

  2. In the field at the bottom, type the following and then hit the Enter key: 

    \\your.server.ip\system$

    being sure to substitute your.server.ip with the actual IP address of your TV Server.

From your Mac desktop

  1. From your Finder menu, click Connect to Server.

  2. In the Server Address field, type the following and then hit the Enter key: 

    smb://your.server.ip/system$

    being sure to substitute your.server.ip with the actual IP address of your TV Server.

Once connected, you will then be challenged for your TV Server username and password.
