Key Security Features

TV Server and HD Encoder are hardened, Linux-based, on-premises appliances with the following security features:

  • Installation of additional software is blocked
  • Strong, user-defined passwords are required for all access
  • Built-in firewall supports restricting access to customer-defined IP addresses
  • All services run under non-privileged accounts
  • Web access can be configured to HTTPS-only
  • The default self-signed TLS certificate can be replaced with a customer provided certificate

  • Upon customer request, to evaluate and where appropriate integrate additional security patches as they're reported
  • Guarantee SLA response and resolution times under a support maintenance plan
Customer Recommendations

We encourage all customers to:

  • Change the factory default password
  • Access the appliance only over HTTPS
  • Configure trusted NTP servers
  • Back up their configuration regularly
